"Delay Is Our Enemy" is a phrase an ex-CEO of mine used to say to us as a philosophy he wanted us to practice. He had previously headed a multi-billion dollar company and had many great things to teach. This saying holds true to everything in life from personal to work, delaying things only works against you.

If you can get to things sooner, not only will you be able to accomplish things faster, you will be able to get more done. Time is a finite commodity for us all, as we only have so much time to do things on this earth. It is up to us to choose how much we do, doing more is experiencing more. Did we go on that trip we always wanted? Did we watch that play we talked about for so long? Did we spend time with our loved ones? What do we want to do and accomplish?

In business, delay can be devastating. A competitor who is working hard and gaining market share, will be tougher to beat. Any delay puts your business further back. If the business is running at a loss, then delay in time to profit will potentially kill the company before it can get there. Even if you are ahead of the game,delay will let your competitors catch up. If you have a plan, do it, procrastination is a non productive word.

So if you are thinking about what your next marketing move is, don't delay, try it. Make calculated decisions of course, but if it looks good, then why wait?
